Brett Sinclair is an interculturalist and owner of the Marketing Agency, Raven & Lotus. Through this work, he seeks to build more organic, dynamic, and intuitive relationships between organizations and the community they serve by crafting narratives with the needs of the community front and center. This corporate application of diversity, equity, and inclusion has allowed Sinclair to model to organizations a better path forward while still doing good business.

As a neuro-diverse, indigenous, black, and white individual, Sinclair has seen how systems affect people's ability to fully participate in society. His multifaceted work started in Vancouver as the Equity Commissioner at the University of British Columbia. This opportunity to marry project management, strategic planning, and storytelling followed him into the classroom. While teaching High School Social Studies using Project Based Learning and a critical reflection on the material, he aimed to best prepare his inner-city students for a world that systemically puts them at a disadvantage. Intentionally challenging systems of inclusion is a key factor in the health of a community and individuals; which requires education, new tools, and active partnerships.

Presently, Sinclair serves Northern Michigan E3 as Council Coordinator which has been a gift of opportunity to further his work "Up North". Under Raven & Lotus, Sinclair is orchestrating a collaboration of Grand Traverse Region businesses and leaders around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to establish a network that acts in concert as the region seeks to reclaim its history as an intercultural community. One day he hopes to own a tea shop and brewery in a lighthouse with a bookstore to be a center for these ideals.
