About the event
On June 19, 1865, an announcement of Union Army General Gordon Granger, proclaimed freedom for the enslaved people in Texas, which as the last state of the Confederacy with institutional slavery. Juneteenth National Independence Day became a federal holiday in 2021. By recognizing Juneteenth, we are not only celebrating the emancipation of all slaves in the U.S., and we are also uplifting and celebrating Black Americans, their/our culture, and their/our contributions to the world. Join us as we gather in beloved community to celebrate this important holiday!
There is something for everyone from food truck and art to a whole list of children's activities. Don't miss this oppurtunity to be a part of this celebration with local artist, speakers, and musician.
